China Sichuan MENG DING GAN LU (SWEET DEW) Imperial Grade
The top grade of the green tea called "Sweet Rose" (Gan Lu) listed in the "50 Famous Teas of China", grown on Meng-ting Mountain, famous for its three exceptionalities - rain, fog and clouds.
The teas from this area are considered the best of Sichuan province, and Gan Lu is among the most prized, its production possible only from the earliest harvests. The tea is grown at an altitude of around 1000m.
The wire-like, hand-rolled, loosely twisted, grass-green, long, whole leaf with a very high proportion of fragile downy tips.
The infusion is extraordinary, full-bodied, rich, very smooth and delicious, balanced, floral, tipsy-rooty flavours with a slightly herbal aftertaste.
